Week of Prayer in Friedensau
10. Nov. 2018
From November 5 to 10, 2018, the Week of Prayer took place at Friedensau Adventist University (FAU). The speaker was Prof. Lidija Djordjevic Runic from Belgrad. In the daily evening sessions from Monday to Friday, she spoke on the topic "Lead me, Lord". The Week of Prayer ended with a service in the chapel on Saturday, November 10, 2018.
Every evening, Lidija Runic presented different personalities from the Bible. For example, Jacob, the son of Isaac and Rebecca, who cheated his brother out of his father's special firstborn blessing. Or Lea, one of Jacob's two wives, who remained unloved, but was always hoping for her husband's love. Or Joseph, Jacob's favorite son, whom the brothers—out of pure jealousy—sold into slavery to Egypt and whose special position in Egypt later proved to be a blessing for his family. Or Daniel, who came to the Babylonian court as a prisoner, lived an exemplary live, earned respect, and experienced much envy from his opponents. What did Jacob, Lea, Joseph, and Daniel have in common? How could they be role models for us?
