Welcome to the new Director of the University Library

From October 1, 2018, the University Library of Friedensau Adventist University (FAU) will be managed by its new library director. Rector Prof. Dr. phil. Roland Fischer welcomed Raul Cervantes in his new function on behalf of the administration of FAU, staff, and students.

After a short vacancy, Raul Cervantes takes over the management of the library and thus the position of Raimar Oestreich, who left FAU at the end of June 2018. Raul Cervantes, 46, studied Library and Information Science at Humboldt-Universität Berlin and graduated with a Master of Arts in 2011. He is a German citizen with Mexican roots, as his name suggests. Raul Cervantes has been working at the University Library of FAU since 2011 and knows the challenges, working conditions, and staff from the "second row", what makes it easier for him to take on the new tasks. He is married and has two children. And currently, his is doing a part-time doctorate in Library Sciences at Complutense de Madrid.
