Friedensau Adventist University (FAU) is a state-accredited church-run university of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and owns the School of Social Sciences and the School of Theology. In the winter semester 2020/21, a
tenure-track professorship/lectureship of Law in Social Work
is to be filled. The male or female future professor/lecturer will be responsible for organizational aspects in the field of law and has to significantly fill it with his/her own teaching in the Bachelor's program of Social Work (and in adjacent Master's programs). The subject area encompasses legal theory and practice in the areas of child and youth welfare services, family law, livelihood, and related social law, including its international implications. Besides teaching and research, it is also his/her responsibility to actively participate in the further development and internationalization of the university as well as in the university self-government.
We expect him/her to have teaching experience in the field of law in social work and to be interested in relevant research. Due to the internationality of the university, teaching experience in English is desirable, very good knowledge of English (oral/written) is required in any case. It is also desirable if he/she has in-depth insight into the application of law in the fields of social work. As a campus university, we strive for full-time teachers to take up residence in the FAU catchment area. Membership in a Christian church is desired.
The prerequisites for the employment of an unlimited professorship result from § 35 Para. 1 and 2 Nos. 1-4a and Para. 3 HSG LSA (university studies, pedagogical aptitude, doctorate, habilitation or equivalent achievements). The requirements according to § 40 HSG LSA (university studies, pedagogical aptitude, doctorate) apply to the tenure-track lectureship. This position is limited to two three-year periods and leads to a professorship if the scientific achievements are successfully evaluated.
