ThHF Alumnus successfully completes Doctorate

Charles Hategekimana, a 2011 graduate of the M.A. program in International Social Sciences at Friedensau Adventist University (FAU), successfully completed his Ph.D. at the University of Kassel on February 14, 2022. His dissertation topic was "Community-Based Associations and Rural Development in Rwanda: A Local Perspective on the Contribution of Social Capital to Human Capabilities."
Dr. Hategekimana was a fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in cooperation with the Rwandan government since October 2017. He has been working as a lecturer at the Adventist University of Central Africa (AUCA) in Rwanda since 2011. His doctoral thesis was supervised by Professor Aram Ziai, University of Kassel, and Professor Ulrike Schultz, Friedensau Adventist University.
After Dr. Kwaku Arhin-Sam and Dr. Annette Witherspoon, Charles Hategekimana is the third successful doctoral student from the aforementioned M.A. program in five years. Congratulations!
