FAQs

Yes, there are several kindergartens, elementary schools, and secondary schools near Friedensau. One small kindergarten is located directly on the campus of Friedensau Adventist University.
What about church activities in the region?
Although Friedensau is located in one of the most non-religious areas of Europe, it has been a center of Adventist spirituality and mission since 1899. On campus, there are three weekly services - one in German in the chapel, one in English, also in the chapel, and on in the Nursing Home. The campus church with its three congregations, two languages, and participation from believers and visitors from dozens of countries considers itself one local church expressing its faith in complementary ways through these and other spiritual highlights. You are invited to participate and involve yourself in all them with your talents and experience. There are also a variety of children's groups and Bible study groups taking place weekly, and a vibrant international potluck meeting after church.
Adventist congregations nearby are the small Möckern, Burg and Genthin churches, and the Magdeburg church, which conducts parallel worship services in German, English, and Ukrainian.
Where do Friedensau people go shopping?
There are several supermarkets in the little town of Möckern, 10 kms from Friedensau, and a more varied array of shops and supermarkets in the district town, Burg bei Magdeburg. Magdeburg, the capital of the Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt, just 35 kms away, has all the things one needs for life.
Friedensau itself also has a little shop connected to the beautiful Ladencafé. You will find a number of items for your basic needs here as well.
