The course “German as a Foreign Language” explored Dresden

03. May. 2022

Time to travel! The course "German as a Foreign Language" explored Dresden and its surroundings from 24 to 27 April. The programme included sightseeing, but also sharing information the students had researched.

Language and culture are inseparably linked. For this reason, an important aspect of the language course is to get students acquainted with the culture and history of Germany and Europe. This takes place in the form of a variety of excursions, such as this one to Dresden. In recent years, excursions have also taken students to the port city of Hamburg, to the state capital Magdeburg with its 800-year-old cathedral, to Wittenberg, the city where Martin Luther lived and posted the 95 Theses on the castle church door, and to Berlin, Germany’s capital city.

"German as a Foreign Language" has been an integral part of the courses offered at Friedensau Adventist University since 1993. Course participants with basic knowledge (at least level CEFR A1) can prepare for the language level required for university studies in three or more trimesters.
