The ‘Chronicle’ of Friedensau will be published – and can now be pre-ordered

The village of Friedensau in Jerichower Land has existed for 125 years. Not a long time for a village. Nevertheless, it is worth taking a look at its history. Friedensau church historian Dr Johannes Hartlapp has written this down in a local chronicle, which he has been working on for many months. Images and documents had to be collected from various archives across Germany, categorised, researched and analysed. This has now been completed – although the work of a historian never ends ... The book designer is currently demonstrating her skills and is working flat out on the reader-friendly design of the texts and images. Since the spring, a photographer has been collecting current local and landscape images to supplement the historical documents. Now Dr. Johannes Hartlapp and his team are putting the finishing touches to the content and design – the printing press is waiting ... Just like the interested readers await the finished book ‘125 years of Friedensau. A chronicle’. The lovingly designed and high-quality book is due to be published in spring 2025 and will also be available in bookshops. It provides deep insights into the historical context and focuses on the events of the first hundred years.
