Successfull Forest Run for a Good Cause

On Sunday, 24 April 2022, 3.00 p.m., the students of Friedensau Adventist invited to the "Forest Run for a Good Cause". After a long break, it was time to get going again: Running for a good cause. Everyone was welcome to take part in sporting and charitable activities. Almost 100 participants started on the village square. The winners of the children's and youth rounds were: André Müller (Friedensau) with 27 rounds, 2nd place: Jaymie-Dean Kumor (Lüttgenziatz) with 26 rounds; 3rd place: Pascal Friebe (Lüttgenziatz) with 24 rounds, 4th and 5th places with 22 rounds each: Nathanael Cervantes (Friedensau) and Jonathan Menn (Cologne). Each lap was half a kilometre.

Christian Menn (Alumnus from Cologne) and Maik Wutschke (Theology Student) completed 19 laps (equivalent to 19 km); Rector Roland Fischer 16 laps and District Administrator Steffen Burchhardt 12 laps - to name but a few. Congratulations!

The donations will be handed over to the Lüttgenziatz Children's and Youth Home and the Burg Women's Shelter in the next few days.

How does the forest run for a good cause work? Runners who want to take part in the forest run register and find a sponsor for the laps they run, who then donates a certain amount per lap. Sponsors who do not want to run themselves indicate that they would like to support the forest run. The runners ran a 1 km loop along the edge of the forest through Friedensau. The 1-km running lap was intended for adults; for children, seniors or otherwise walking-impaired persons, a running lap of about 500 m was planned. "Anyone can be a sponsor: your own company, grandma, best friend, class teacher, your own pocket money. You can sponsor yourself! However, for the psychological effect, it makes sense to have another person as a sponsor," is how Kathrin Taraba, the student spokesperson and main person responsible for the forest run, summed it up. For companies who would like to participate as sponsors, there is the possibility of corporate advertising during the event by arrangement. We are happy about everyone who supports this project! The student council of Friedensau Adventist University organised the Waldlauf für den guten Zweck for the sixth time to send out signals and support social institutions in the region. The next Forest Run for a Good Cause in Friedensau will take place on 16 April 2023.
