For Sunday, April, 21, 2024, 3.00 to 5.00 pm, the students of Friedensau Adventist University invite you to the "Forest Run for a Good Cause". While the running shoes have been in their winter quarters for some time, it is time to get going again: Running for a good cause. Everyone is welcome to take part in sporting and charitable activities. In 2024, donations will be raised for the "Children's and youth fire departments of the town of Möckern" and used to support their work.

This year's "Forest Run for a Good Cause" will be a run of about 2 km along the edge of the Friedensau forest. The 2-km run is intended for adults; for children, senior citizens or other persons with walking difficulties, a run of about 1 km is planned.

How does the "Forest Run for a Good Cause" generate added value, how are donations raised? Runners who want to participate in the forest run register and find a sponsor for the laps they run, who donates a certain amount. Sponsors who do not want to run themselves indicate that they would like to support the forest run. By registering on our website, sponsors and runners, as well as helpers and organisers, will find each other if there are no matches in their own family or immediate environment.

Kathrin Taraba, student organiser of this year's Waldlauf, explains: "Anyone can be a sponsor: your own company, grandma, best friend, class teacher, your own pocket money. You can sponsor yourself! However, for the psychological effect, it makes sense to have another person as a sponsor."

She adds, "Anyone who would like to participate in the 'Forest Run for a Good Cause' as a sponsor or runner, please register via the website. For companies wishing to participate as sponsors, there is the possibility of corporate advertising during the event by arrangement. We are happy about all those who support this project! The student council of Friedensau Adventist University is organising the "Forest Run for a Good Cause" for the seventh time in order to support social institutions in the Jerichower Land region – just as the potters' wives of Friedensau do with their annual pottery bazaar.
