International Altaistic Conference

From August 18 to 23, 2019, the 62nd annual meeting of the Permanent International Altaistic Conference (PIAC) takes place in Friedensau. This year the plenum will talk about state and religion in the Altaic world. Altaistic deals with the history, language, and culture of peoples and ethnic groups, such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Manchu and others, in the Central Asian Altai Mountains and the bordering regions of Central Asia.

PIAC cooperates with the Institute of Turkology at Freie Universität Berlin.
