Implementation of the SARS-CoV-2 containment regulation

Dear students,
today, the State of Saxony-Anhalt issued the SARS-CoV-2 Containment Bylaw with effect from 18 March to 19 April 2020 inclusive. This has a direct binding effect for all citizens and institutions in Saxony-Anhalt and aims to contain the spread of the corona virus.
On the basis of this bylaw, the following measures will be taken, which will apply from Wednesday (March 18), 10:00 a.m:
1. Teaching
Classroom teaching, including the university choir, will not be held for the duration of the SARS-CoV-2 Containment Bylaw. They can be replaced by distance learning courses. Which courses are offered in this form will be announced in the course of this week.
2. Food
The university Mensa will be closed to the public. The supply offers are only valid for members of the university and guests of the university guest house.
The decentralized tea kitchens in the dormitory area will remain open. The rules of hygiene must be observed. It is expressly pointed out that cooking in the rooms is prohibited for fire safety reasons.
All members of the university are encouraged to use this central Mensa offer.
3. Library
The library will be closed to the public.
4. University sports
University sports events are prohibited. The use of the sports facilities (hall and sports fields) is prohibited.
5. Meetings of students and staff, devotions and StuZ
Students and employees can meet for student activities or official meetings within the framework of the regulations of § 1 para. 3 SARS-CoV-2-Contaiment Bylaw with a maximum of 50 participants and under observance of the minimum distances. Also a list of participants must be made. The same applies to devotions.
For meetings in the StuZ a maximum number of 25 participants applies.
The measures are expected to remain in force until April 19, 2020 inclusive. If the SARS-CoV-2 Containment Bylaw is lifted prematurely, the measures may also be lifted prematurely.
