First events to mark the town’s anniversary »125 years«
13. Feb. 2024
On January 14 and February 11, 2024, the first events were held in Friedensau to mark the "125 Years of Friedensau" anniversary. On both dates, Dr. Johannes Hartlapp gave an introduction to Friedensau's history, starting with the 1940s and 1950s, the latter of which was shaped in a special way by the Minister President of Saxony-Anhalt, Dr. Erhard Hübener. Dr. Hartlapp mentioned many other names: the founding fathers, the first principals and the well-known and less well-known names of the teaching staff, the first pupils, especially those who formed the first preacher class in Friedensau after the Second World War. The events have so far been well or very well attended.
An exhibition on Friedensau's history is currently being created in the university library. The first ten posters are already on display; another ten posters will be added by the end of March, rounding off the period up to 1990. The texts and images – which come from Johannes Hartlapp and various archives – are arranged chronologically. They show the growth and changes in Friedensau. Dr. Hartlapp is a proven expert in Friedensau history – as in church history in general; a subject he has taught at Friedensau Theological College for 29 years. He spent many years of his life as well as his childhood and youth in Friedensau, as his parents Wolfgang and Lisbeth Hartlapp already attended the Friedensau educational institution. In this respect, many of Johannes Hartlapp's references are "drawing from the abundance". For those who were unable to attend the event on February 11, 2024, here is a spontaneous recording of the event. Any technical interruptions are due to the spontaneity of the recording.
The exhibition is well worth a visit to Friedensau. The posters were designed by Eugen Mayer from the Marketing department at the FAU. The exhibition runs until the end of December 2024 (Text: Andrea Cramer).
