District Jerichower Land reads the German Constitution

06. Jun. 2024

On May 23, 2024, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany celebrated its 75th birthday. It forms the basis for the coexistence of all citizens in Germany. Article 1, paragraph 1 “Human dignity is inviolable. It is the duty of all state authority to respect and protect it” – is the well-known beginning of the Constitution. Now a number of personalities from the Jerichower Land have come together to follow an initiative by the doctor Dr. Anika Wolfskämpf from Zeddenick and give the text passages of the Basic Law a face and apply them to their own area of life and work. Alexander Schulze, Ph.D. (USA), Dean of the School of Theology and lecturer in practical theology, represented Friedensau Adventist University in the academic world and quoted Article 5, paragraph 3: “Art and science, research and teaching are free. The freedom of teaching does not release from loyalty to the constitution." The complete video can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9weovvB7Epk

A few months ago, Friedensau Adventist University commemorated the drafting of the Basic Law. The university library presented an exhibition about the “Mothers of the Basic Law”: https://www.thh-friedensau.de/ausstellung-muetter-des-grundgesetzes-in-hochschulbibliothek/
