Christmas service from Friedensau on Hope-TV and YouTube

17. Dec. 2020

On Thursday, December 24, 2020, 6:00 p.m., the Christmas service from Friedensau will be shown on Hope-TV*. University choir and musicians from Friedensau will frame the Christmas speeches by Roland Fischer and Stefan Burton-Schnüll. Bible texts are read by Caroline Witt, performed by Eléana Dullinger and historically embedded by Johannes Hartlapp. The Christmas service was pre-recorded for Hope-TV in the Kulturscheune Friedensau in January 2020. It is also available on YouTube: The Gift of God | Christmas Service from Friedensau.

Christmas is one of the great Christian celebrations. The Messiah was born in Bethlehem 2000 years ago. Pastor Burton-Schnüll quotes John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." Gifts that we give to our children, parents, friends, loved ones symbolize that God has given us a great gift in Jesus.

And so, to the tune of a French Christmas carol from the 18th century, the university choir sings, "...Behold, the Savior was born, that he might reconcile us to God; love has chosen us and crowned us with paternal favor. Gloria in excelsis Deo!"

If you would like to open a door to the "Friedensau Advent Calendar" every day until December 24, follow the "Tracks in Advent"! Since December 1, we have been setting the mood for Christmas. Every day a Friedensauer, a student, a lecturer or a resident tells about their own experiences and adventures around Christmas. Merry Christmas! The playlist: https://bit.ly/3ntFpnp
