Cheque handed over from the 2023 forest run for a good cause

On Thursday, 15 August 2024, representatives of the student council and Friedensau Adventist University handed over the donation cheque for the "Forest Run for a Good Cause 2023" to the "Werkstatt für Behinderte, Elbe-Havel-Werkstätten gGmbH, Zweigstelle Tierpark Zabakuck". Dr Steffen Burchhardt, District Administrator of Jerichower Land, was also present to hand over the donation; he is both patron and active supporter of the "Forest Run for a Good Cause" project. 3,409.50 euros in donations were handed over to zoo manager Juliane Reimann. Zabakuck Zoo was chosen as the project to be supported because integration is practised here: People with and without disabilities work together with commitment, love and joy to look after the animals and visitors to the zoo. According to Juliane Reimann, the donation will be used for a joint trip to Staßfurt Zoo – to see how work and care is carried out elsewhere, so to speak – and part of the money will be used to renovate the prairie dog enclosure. The main sponsors of the 2023 forest run were Stadtwerke Burg and Friedensau Adventist University. The Forest Run 2025 will take place on 27 April 2025.
