“Biblical Greek” language course began
11. Sep. 2024
On Monday, 9 September 2024, the Biblical Greek language course began at Friedensau Adventist University (FAU). Theology students will complete a four-week intensive course in biblical languages before the start of the winter semester in October.
The "Biblical Greek" course in the School of Theology at the FAU runs from 9 September to 4 October 2024 and is taught by lecturer Dr habil. Igor Lorencin will conduct it. The course is designed for beginners and - if joining later – also for advanced learners. It is offered annually in alternation with "Biblical Hebrew". In principle, it is also open to people from outside the region who are interested in learning biblical languages. Pastors are invited to use the language course as an opportunity for further training. This possibility should be planned for the long term; for next year then in "Biblical Hebrew".
The learning group, which includes the first-year students of the Bachelor of Theology programme for the winter semester 2024/25, has the opportunity to grow together through devotions and time spent together. During the lessons, they will embark on an exciting journey of discovery into the New Testament.
Friedensau, which was founded in 1899, will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2024. Friedensau Adventist University, a state-recognised university run by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, is located here. Ten B.A. and M.A. degree programmes – some of which are part-time or online – are available in the Schools of Social Sciences and Theology: https://www.thh-friedensau.de. Prospective students can register for taster days and get to know life in the lecture theatre and on campus. | www.125-friedensau.de (Text: Andrea Cramer).
