Academic year begins with enrollment
04. Oct. 2021
Today, October 4, 2021, the winter semester 2021/22 at Friedensau Adventist University (FAU) began with enrollment. With an address, the rector, Prof. Dr. phil. Roland Fischer, welcomed the new students in a ceremonial setting.
52 students began their studies at the FAU in the B.A. program in Theology as well as in the Master's programs in International Social Sciences, Music Therapy, Counseling, in the German and English language program in Theology as well as in the course 'German as a Foreign Language'. The new students come from many countries: from Ethiopia, Angola, Belgium, Brazil, Burundi, Germany, France, Ghana, India, Ireland, Cameroon, Congo, Cuba, Nepal, Nigeria, Tanzania, Rwanda, Switzerland, Spain, Syria, Czech Republic and the USA.
At the same time, 16 participants of "1Year4Jesus" started. This is a voluntary social year (FSJ) that gives young people the opportunity to get involved in social, diaconal and missionary work in local projects, but also on a national level, after they have finished school. They receive their first theoretical and practical grounding at Friedensau Adventist University.
For the traditional culinary welcome, there was a breakfast "come together" in the refectory. Alexander Helmeke, the head of cafeteria, and his team provided culinary surprises. In the evening, a welcome dinner for the new students and the university's lecturers will follow in the Kulturscheune. This is an opportunity to get to know each other for the first time. We wish all students a good start to their studies!
